However, the type of work is not completely interesting (it's a bit dry... but if you're interested in financial information software, this is the best place you could possibly work)."

What do you like about working at FactSet Research Systems?

"Most of the management started off as software engineers, so communication about problems was excellent. We had a variety of interesting projects and it was refreshing to hear about the new technologies other teams were working with."

What don't you like about working at FactSet Research Systems?

"As part of my duties I was required to be on call 24/7. Where as other larger teams had shifts, due to the smaller size of the team I was a part of we were required to be on call consistently. There were a few periods where it was not uncommon to be woken up at 2-3 in the morning several times a week."

"The people are all really nice, and management puts a lot of faith in me and my abilities. I know I have a lot of support from upper management for my ideas, and the work environment is really nice."

"Many of the people in middle management are afraid of utilizing newer technologies, and are very resistant to change."

"When preparing a plan for a new product or direction for an application, try to consider the long-term ramifications of the technologies used to prevent problems of scalability. As a technology company, it is imperative that management and employees are aware of the benefits and drawbacks of emerging technologies."
