What do you like about working at CoStar Group?

"There were some very nice people working there."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't interview if you mind people constantly looking over your shoulder! The job is marketed as a chance to work independently but instead they brag about how they are watching you all the time to try to catch you doing something wrong. They literally have a room full of people who sit all day watching to see where your vehicle is, how long you stay at each stop, how fast you were driving, etc. I felt like I was in prison."

What don't you like about working at CoStar Group?

"It was all about making quotas, not about doing accurate work. Much of the workday was spent checking in and filling out time records - because the company wanted to ensure people weren't working unpaid overtime - although the quotas were so high apparently the only way to met them was to work unpaid on the weekends. People would deliberately enter data wrong if it got them more points in the quota system...and managers seemed to encourage that practice."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Change the compensation system so it is about quality not quantity. Don't force people to sneak work in over the weekends in order to make quotas. Make ergonomic changes. No one should be forced to spend hours doing data entry and photoshopping in a car."
