CoStar Group is the largest aggregator of commercial real estate information in the United States and Great Britain. Professional brokers use this database to locate commercial properties in more than 140 different markets, find properties that are for lease or for sale, and then market the real estate free of charge through various products. It is also used for performing detailed analysis and compiling data for benchmarks, risk mitigation, and sales comparable reporting.

Founder Andrew C. Florance opened the doors of CoStar in 1987. Since then, the operation has expanded to include 30 domestic offices located in various cities and an international branch that is headquartered in Scotland. In 2011, the organization bought out one of its major competitors, LoopNet, and doubled its subscriber base. Currently, Costar employs 1500 workers worldwide.

With a casual atmosphere, the CoStar culture encourages growth through a policy of rewarding hard work. Promotion from within the ranks is encouraged with in-house training programs and tuition reimbursement plans. Research and sales associates have unlimited opportunity to advance into managerial positions. In addition, center analysts, SQL developers, network engineers, photographers, and economists are frequently hired.

CoStar Group careers are established through performance and training. Currently, there are two paths to assist employees in setting goals. The managerial track outlines the requisite education and achievements required to advance in this field. The research department is the alternative tract. Staff is provided with detailed guidance on how to develop expertise in this area.

Mandated monthly quotas are standard. In order to balance the demands of work, CoStar Group benefits are some of the best in the industry.

A generous employee leave policy includes nine paid holidays, two personal days, and five paid sick days. In addition, paid time off is offered for newlyweds; maternity leave is offered as well. Vacation time is awarded after three months of employment, and workers can gain up to 20 days per year. Employees are also given a spending stipend of $100.00 per month to cover transportation expenses.

Other benefits include a 401k retirement plan, health insurance, free influenza vaccinations, and an employee assistance program. An accidental Death and Dismemberment policy, a dependent care spending account, a stock purchasing plan, and disability protection are provided. Employees can also opt in to voluntary pre-paid legal memberships and critical illness supplements.
