"The parent company Baker & Taylor failed to understand that BTMS understood their customers needs and were the best in the business. Baker & Taylor's insistence on forcing BTMS to mirror their business was like fitting a round peg in a square hole and ultimately resulted in a huge loss in business for BTMS"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Recognize the expertise of BTMS employees, recognize Baker & Taylor cannot dictate how business will be handled to BTMS customers. Be honest about Baker & Taylor's intent, be respectful of employees need to feel secure in knowing they can trust that Baker & Taylor execs are communicating openly and honestly about the future of BTMS"

"The (non-senior management) people there are fantastic. Many have been there for 15 years or more. The people is what has kept that company afloat."

"It's difficult for me to have perspective. Having been there for a decent amount of time, I've seen the company do a complete change in attitude. Many of the changes I simply can not respect."

What don't you like about working at Baker & Taylor?

"New management doesn't really know the quality of their staff and that invaluable asset is shrinking (either by company layoffs or by choice). The company is extremely short term focused."
