Allocate resources for the 'next' big thing, and have it done better, then switch over to it. Either that or you have to plan out how to transition something over time, but that won't happen as long as it's perpetual improvements, it eventually scales to the point where the architecture cannot hold the level of functionality. It's hard to explain, but think of a Brick bridge.
