"Terrible, abusive culture and work environment. Unsupportive management. Problems do not get solved. Unable to provide proper support due to bureaucracy, end up taking blame for many things you are unable to change. Poor performers are not addressed. Promotions don’t go to the deserving, they frequently don’t even go to the qualified."
"I only worked here for 4 short weeks and in that short time frame I learned that adult bullying exists in this work place, specifically by management. I was not fully trained before being expected to go on my own, and when I spoke up I was quite literally put in my place verbally and told to deal with it. Sorry but I would expect that new employees are given an opportunity to learn first, then go into the firing rounds and fend for yourself. And if I experience an issue, that management would make an attempt to address the issue, resolve it and move forward."
"Great company and great benefits. Wellstar truly believes in taking care of its employees. They are listed in the top 50 jobs to work for in the United States."
"My opinion! Support is not there. We are cut back in resources. Disjointed communications makes it difficult to support care. Inefficient and wasteful in some area. Too many agendas. The community board needs to take a closer look at how the place is really run now. HR does not support the employee and either do not know what to do, cannot do the right thing, or is brutal to protect the company and keep their own job."
"In opinion, unionize Kennestone to improve relations and care. Never have been a proponent of unions till Kennestone. Behavior rules apply depending on who you are or know. HR is no assistance for the employee. Gallup surveys do not reflect actual opinions as tactile strategies or punishment goes into preparation not actual improvements. Positively they are some great people too that want to give their best and their morale can be broken. It is a hard place to fit in."
"It would be better if had enough staff. So many walking around surveying that have no experience to be of help or know what to do. More staff needed that actually take care or support. Most of the actual workers for sure make it happen."
"Stressful environment with limited resources. Mostly what looks good on paper rather than actual results. Expectations change day by day can cause blunders that management does not take accountability."
"I found that at WellStar, it was not so much as to what you knew, but who liked what you had to say. I've worked in larger companies that had far less politics than this company. This was by far the worst one. Could never trust what was said by management or count on having all the information when starting projects."
"I worked for Wellstar briefly in a contract role. During that time I noticed that there was a serious focus on patient safety and confidentiality. The compensation was great and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly."
"Kennestone Hospital is limited for opportunities with hard work and knowledge seldom appreciated. Many knee jerk reactions from management. Consider other employers if you can drive out of the area. Gave up other opportunity and it was a huge career mistake. Turnover rate seems above the norm. The facility is fair if you just want a paycheck and keep your head and eyes cast downward."
"Nearly a decade at this company. WellStar compensation is intentionally aligned with median market pay, so talent is not attracted or retained often. There is an excess of middle management and because access/authorities are compartmentalized, resolving issues usually requires concerted effort between several teams. It causes very inefficient resolution times. There is little accountability or quality control in terms of employee performance. Just went to high-deductible HSAs for insurance."
