"It's not what you know here. It is who you know. You will be riffed in time."

"Stop riffing your experienced people who know what they are doing."

"I like the ability to work at home and control my schedule. Management was great at letting you get your job done without micromanaging."

"Just realize that telecom is up-and-down and you will get laid off at some point."

"I dislike the support beyond 3rd-level management; it was pretty much non-existent."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I have nothing for direct management. For upper level executives: learn from the past. If you send work overseas and then bring it back because they couldn't do it, then why would you try another groups' work"

"I love the fact that working at VzB always has the latest technologies and cutting-edge products on which to work."

"Just be prepared to work very hard, and with any luck, you will have a good manager who will make it worth your while."

What don't you like about working at Verizon Wireless?

"The expectations of the individual contributors, up to director level, are unreasonable. The hours that it takes to keep up with the workload after so many RIFs make it impossible to keep up, creating stress."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would TRY to be more employee and family-oriented and not quite so greedy and worried about Wall Street. That is very difficult in this day and age, however!"

"I like the daily challenge of developing a new project from the ground up, and finding ways to integrate new service or equipment into the existing processes."

"Economic requirements force them to reduce the work force to a level that led to a loss of knowledge."

"I like teamwork, flexibility, and the competitive and challenging environment that requires continuous self and skill improvement and good management."

"Increase the budget for more resources to improve quality of work delivered within committed time."

"The people who do the actual work are great, company benefits are good, and compensation is good as well."

"The good ole boy network is still in effect."

"Look closely at your middle managers for people skills, and overall compentencies."
