"I worked at UWM for 2 years and was not satisfied with company policies and the way things are handled. The hours are horrible and the PTO is almost nonexistent. The people I work with are great but the company morale is awful."
"It's a great company to work for. The only drawback is you don't get enough PTO and Flexibility is literally 0. If you can go to the office day in and out without complaining it's a great fit for you."
"United Wholesale Mortgage is a very competitive, commitment focused, and continuously changing work environment. The work hours are challenging and extensive, however the experience, education, and relationships with team members and partners are prominent to an underwriter’s career. With little or no experience UWM hires hundreds of new employees monthly over a plethora of positions."
"I’ve worked for the company since early 2019. The environment is very warm and welcoming, however there have been many abrupt changes to compensation across the company since going public."
"Greedy company that loves to act like it cares about its employees, but really they don’t. The CEO rather build faulty drive ins that fall on his employees cars and buy new buildings then pay his average worker a livable wage. He acts like he cares about us but he doesn’t. He rather raise responsibilities over and over then ever raise pay"
"I enjoyed working for United Wholesale Mortgage as a Senior Underwriter because I am very organized and detail oriented. However, I did not feel supported by leadership and encouraged to grow within my career."
"I have worked at UWM since January of 2021. It is a great company with tremendous growth potential for younger employees and the company facilities are absolutely phenomenal! It is a very different environment for me at UWM because you work more individually and it isn’t the usual plant environment I am used too. The company is fantastic but I am currently looking for something with better pay, better hours and something in a production environment which I relish."
"Overall the UWM Success Center Center was a great place to work. With the Covid 19 pandemic, the SSC moved all virtual which was a struggle especially for tutoring courses where drawing graphs and having face-to-face interaction is needed. The SSC did as well as they could to deal with the challenges and provided great communication throughout."
"I have worked for United Wholesale Mortgage for over 3 years now. I think it is a great company to get started at. They have a great culture and a good training program."
"UWM is a great company to start a career in the mortgage industry. They are willing to train people with no professional experience and turn them into experienced, successful underwriters. While most choose not to stay for their entire career, I would strongly recommend putting in 3-7 years at this company to gain experience. Overall, employees are treated well."
"UWM provides a family oriented culture. There are 6200 employees all working together on one campus with huge amenities. The training is top notch and sets one up for success in the company. Adaptive to employees needs and various circumstances. Encourages career growth promoting only from within. Fun place to work."
"I have worked with UWM over 4 years it has been a great experience and I would have loved to retire from this company, however, it is challenging and can sometimes be overwhelming, but at the end I wouldn’t trade the experience I had with this company."
"I've worked for UWM for over a year and found it to be a great place to getting your foot in the door when others would not give you a chance. They are willing to train for any position and let you take the reign for your role and compensation (daily commitments help drive this part of the role). There's plenty of on-site perks to make your life easier from the gym to the free coffee and to an on-site massage therapist and doctor."
"I've worked at UWM since 2019. UWM has a positive atmosphere creating a family/teamwork type environment. The company offers great training and the leadership is willing to work with you."
"UWM is a good company. UWM values relationships with each and every client. The company does a decent job of maintaining a healthy work-life balance."
