UC Davis Overview

University of California, Davis (UC Davis) is a public institution and research university that was founded in 1905 and is located in Davis, California, USA. UC Davis is one of 10 schools in the University of California system and was originally established as the University Farm, an agricultural extension of the University of California, Berkeley. The campus size is the largest, which covers 7,145 acres, and contains an airport, a fire department, and is known as the second campus in the University of California system.

UC Davis offers a wide variety of academic programs and its graduate programs are the highly ranked College of Engineering, School of Medicine, Graduate School of Management, School of Law, and School of Veterinary Medicine. UC Davis' School of Veterinary Medicine is ranked second in the nation and is considered the largest in the United States. In addition, UC Davis has a total undergraduate enrollment of 25,096 and in National Universities is ranked #38 in the 2013 US News edition of Best Colleges.
