TPG Capital was founded in 1992 by three intrepid investors, David Bonderman, James Coulter and William S. Price III. In just two years after opening their first office in Fort Worth, Texas, they opened a branch in Asia and two years later a branch in Europe. They helped Continental Airlines rise from bankruptcy in 1993 and restructured Korea First Bank in 2000. TPG Capital’s original name was Texas Pacific Group, but changed its name in 2007. TGP Capital has now grown into a world-leading private investment firm, but still proudly has its world headquarters in two American cities, San Francisco, California and Forth Worth, Texas. Branch offices can be found in 10 countries throughout the world.
