"I worked for 7 mo. It was one headache after another - they started the company before the had all their ducks in a row! They also hired us as regular employees then informed us within 3 -4 mo, that we had to become independent contractors! Hmm, a big professional company didn't know how to hire the scan techs? "Bait and switch"!!! I was not interested in the change and was unsure if I should continue so I called my CPA and she said this was a huge red flag, however I already invested so many hours of unpaid time trying to learn how to use an intra-oral scanner on my own due to the fact that when they so called trained us we literally held the scanner in our hand for twenty minutes and off they sent us to learn it on our own! I was told to let them know when I was ready to start scanning and verbally promised that I would be traveling 20 miles from home and if I chose to take on any further destinations I would be paid anything over twenty miles. Well a few month later twenty turned into twenty five and it was not acceptable to turn down anything over twenty miles or areas that were unsafe and in a tough traffic route from my home (not what I agreed upon). Anyways, one week after the so called training session I was begged to go to Chicago 60 miles away in an unsafe area I was told I never had to go where I was not comfortable (except now I guess), drug deals going in right in front of my car - gone for 6 hours that day! I earned half that I would at orthodontic assisting job. I was now told I never had to go to the city again after that one favor. Oops, until a month later I was told I had to do one more (found out that individual wasn't really interested and just asked to help out the program) so we put that off. And the following month two appointments that were 30 miles away, yep, and that was in my regular zip code area. What happened to twenty miles? I still have the email stating twenty miles was the agreement . Much more but ran out of space."
