What do you like about working at Salt Lake City Intl. Airport?

"Working with a team of five people to fulfill a daily goal. The supervisors were all friendly and I always felt they cared about the employees."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Follow the rules. Since 9/11, they were very, very security conscience. Be a team player and the team will help you out. The people are friendly but you have to return the attitude. Watch out for supervisors not telling you the whole story behind what the promotion entails. The promotion is more for them than for you."

What don't you like about working at Salt Lake City Intl. Airport?

"I was told that I was going to get to climb the ladder into a better job with more money. It turned out to be a whole different story. First of all, the supervisor who told me that I was going to increase my pay by another dollar, took me into his office on the day of change and informed me that he started all his employees at a rate that was only $0.50 more. Then, instead of working with another team, I was working by myself in five times the pace of where I just left. I was working with a team of four other people before the promotion and all of a sudden, I was working a fast-paced , upscale restaurant. VERY stressful!! Not only that, but less hours which meant less money to take home. I stopped feeling good after a day's work and ended up not liking coming to work in the first place."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would have been a better team leader. The manager liked to run things with an iron-fist and made the team feel scared not to do the job right. I want to make my employee feel good about the job their doing(doing it for the pride, or for the customers satisfaction) not because if they don't do a good job, they're going to hollered at."
