"Be aware that recognition is not always given to the hardest working person. Sometimes it's given to the smartest working person, which might be the person who's figured out how to work the frustrating performance review system."

What don't you like about working at Microsoft?

"Microsoft is too slow to respond to anything - employee needs, consumer needs, etc. It's frustrating to have to sit around and wait for things to get better, just to find it's too little too late."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would completely overhaul the performance review and employee compensation to encourage teams to work well together, and teams to work well with each other."

"It's a corporate job. By definition corporate jobs limit creativity, in the end do what's right for the bottom line and as such have the stakeholder's interest in mind and not the greater good."

"First try to be more inclusive, understand best practices but most of all be a transformational leader vs. old fashioned/old school."

"My coworkers are wonderful! We all band together to get things done."

"Don't work for AT&T. If you have any other options, take them. You are required to do strike duty on top of your own job every 3 years and you can be fired if you don't."

What don't you like about working at AT&T?

"The managers are allowed to be as crummy or nice to employees as they want. There are no rules and the company does not follow any employment laws."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Learn to treat your employees with respect and like adults. Make managers accountable for their behavior. Make employee recommendations of their bosses part of performance reviews."

"I enjoyed the travel. I also enjoyed teaching the architects and engineers how to operationally apply physical security to improve and/or enhance their designs."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Having a background in traditional A&E would be a big plus when applying physical security to their design, i.s. be able to speak the A&E language."

What don't you like about working at STV?

"Frustrating how some colleagues refuse to improve their products for clients due to being set in their engineering models."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Sr. management truly wants to incorporate our abilities but at mid-management it became much more difficult to apply."

"The processes are very well defined and closely governed, but at the same time, have flexibility to fit projects of varying sizes and types."

What don't you like about working at MetLife?

"I am a consultant. There is a general opinion that consultants are temporary. I would like to be treated as a part of the company and not as a temporary resource."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"All workforce, including work done by consultants is a part of the project success. So need to acknowledge it more, even in areas such as PMOs where deliverables are less visible."

"Executive leadership lacked technical acumen and vision. I perceive the company is being positioned to be acquired to the benefit of current executive leadership."

"Figure out how to restructure the company and gain synergy between disparate operating divisions before you become a takeover target."
