"I love working with customers and helping resolve their issues with the product. I like going to different companies that have our products and I can see different ways in which they operate. I love the freedom of being on your own, but working in a team for a common goal to repair the machinery and satisfying the customer. What I dislike is dealing with parts that you need to order and they were supposed to be sent, didn't arrive and I have to explain this to the customer. I do realize though this happens and I have been able to work with it."

"Management is by fear and intimidation. I would not recommend Banctec"

What do you like about working at BancTec?

"Compensation was fair, benefits adequate. District manager was supportive as upper management allowed."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you have no other prospects, take it but don't stop looking."

What don't you like about working at BancTec?

"Pressure to meet SLA'S intense. Unrealistic promises are made to customers. Machine stats are to be submitted daily and a detailed report required for any decline no matter the reason. Management is inept at best and browbeat very competant technicians fot no discenable reason."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"You have very competant and talented technicians. They deserve better than an atmosphere of fear. Price you product realisticly so a reasonable profit can be made without cutting corners. Stop promising things to customers that you know you can't delivrr."

"My former company showed a lot of respect and concern for their employees. It was a family atmosphere, and this trickled down into happy employees and great services rendered."

"Honesty is the best policy. Be true to yourself, and success will follow."

What don't you like about working at Bell & Howell?

"My main concern with my company was that they were inflexible to the changing technological advances. And, because of this inflexibility, they were no longer capable of competing, thus leading to massive lay offs."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Ideally, management should be down to earth, understand that their subordinates are the pillar of the company's success, be firm, but fair, and not be afraid to get their hands dirty."
