Project Coordinator at VMC Consulting
in Redmond, WA

What do you like about working at VMC Consulting?

"I like my coworkers and most of the people I manage."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be prepared for the most insane horrifying office politics. Too many people are somehow related or connected. There is truly a class war situation between the full-time in house people and the contingents."

What don't you like about working at VMC Consulting?

"The management is clueless which leads to people who suck at their job sticking around forever. If you know somebody or kiss ass you will do better. There are people who get away with murder and should have been fired years ago. But there are lots of really great workers who do a great job. We are top heavy on management, and the higher up the less they know. VMC is rarely transparent about anything. We seem to have lots of catchphrases, but we are incredibly inefficient and backwards. There is zero training for most jobs and very few established and followed processes. HR seems to be a tight knit group, but they are very rarely of any help when you have questions."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would provide better benefits and perks to the employees. There is a definite divide between upper management and the regular employees. Upper management is out of touch and fake."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

What don't you like about working at Cie Studios?

"There is nothing good to say about this company at the moment. There's great potential, but we're not even close to tapping into it."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I like being given a variety of projects, including process improvement projects, training projects and the ability to learn project management and eCommerce."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Our location is a satellite office and the opportunity for growth and upward mobility is limited."

Project Coordinator at Wells Fargo
in Charlotte, NC

What do you like about working at Wells Fargo?

"I like the relative job security, strong company, variety of jobs, lots of vacation time, and you can find a job in almost any geography."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Prepare well for the interview and know what Wells Fargo is all about. DO NOT underestimate the difficulty of it. Unless you are applying for a badly needed job with lots of openings, assume there is a lot of great competition for that one opening. You might be excellent for the position, but there might just be one person slightly more excellent and there is only ONE winner. Also, it should go without saying but WF is a bank. Wear a suit and tie (if you're male, and comparable attire for a female), on the conservative side."

What don't you like about working at Wells Fargo?

"You can't really characterize all of Wells Fargo with one opinion, since there are so many different experiences people will have. For the most part, we are overworked. (Definitely take your Blackberry with you on vacation.) There is too little recognition (even though the company tries), it is too micromanaged, and some employees don't feel very valued."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The company is too big and is too difficult to control at the moment. People who manage others need more training on how to do so and what the Wells Fargo vision is on leading people - how they think is not necessarily best."

Project Coordinator at UnitedHealthcare
in Santa Ana, CA

Please give us a one liner to describe this review.

"For UHG, I support PMs and FMs to keep schedules and budgets in line."

What do you like about working at UnitedHealthcare?

"I've got good, professional co-workers and an engaged manager. I have the freedom to work autonomously while knowing I have mgmt's support."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Focus on your familiarity with project management and software development. Their preferred SDLC management tool, Planview, can be picked up pretty quickly by a moderately intelligent person. Where the rubber meets the road in this position is in being strong on the minutiae of scheduling and resource management. Much reporting and tracking counts on the schedule and resource allocations, but the reports aren't worth anything if the schedules and resources aren't accurately built out and maintained."

What don't you like about working at UnitedHealthcare?

"My current position is too simple. I would like to get a position with more meat to the Project Management."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"None in particular. This has been a short assignment and solidly managed."
