NorVergence, Inc. was a Newark, New Jersey-based telecommunications company that sold fraudulent services and products to small and medium-sized business owners. Started in 2001 by Peter and Thomas Salzano, the company marketed a variety of discounted broadband internet, land line and cell phone services to businesses and organizations throughout the United States.

The company created and marketed a device known as MATRIX (Merged Access Transport Intelligent Exchange)that allegedly allowed consumers to save money on their internet, land line and cell phone service without being charged per minute. NorVergence rapidly expanded throughout the US before filing for bankruptcy in 2004. After filing for bankruptcy, the company was blasted with a number of lawsuits that revealed that the company had engaged in fraudulent and deceptive marketing and that it had operated as a ponzi scheme. Before its collapse, NorVergence had an estimated revenue of over $100 million.
