Please give us a one liner to describe this review.

"Allows me to provide for my family at a survival level in these times"

What do you like about working at Securitas?

"steady and secure cash flow. As many hours available to work as I can perform."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Learn as much as you can about the working conditions in which you will be assigned. It would be best if a candidate understood the adverse natural factors of the job (Cold, Wet, sub-zero conditions, purchase of you own warm clothing, impact on health and safety risk from falls and other natural factors) before accepting the role only to find it exceeds their individual tolerance leves to perform. I have seen too many start and quit in very short periods of time because they are desperate for jobs but physically because of low endurance or tolerance levels, aversion to harsh environmental conditions, or inability to perform challenging physical work. It is not for the faint of heart, even in survival conditions."

What don't you like about working at Securitas?

"The work is primarily outdoors, extremely cold (sub zero weather), and no health or similar programs are available as insurance against catastrophic and unforceable events which could threaten my family's economic survival."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Many suggestion can be offered. However, the nature of the service industry is a primary function of the lowest Bidder getting the job. Personnel retention is not a high priority, nor is development or growth of the employees. Working conditions are a function of the Customers physical plant or location and the contracted duties as defined by the Custormer. Making changes to the working environment or the compenstation package for traditonal retention and job satisfaction are likely to exceed the narrow profit margines built into many of the service contracts negotiated. Therefore, the suggestions which I would provide to management focus primarily on improved communication and effective work scheduling systems to assure that all employees are managed to balance the available hours and not carried just by a few employees who are motivated by a strong work ethic."
