"The dregs of call centers like to pretend it's not a call center. A miserable place to work for all the reasons call centers are miserable places to work--negative, micromanaging leadership chief among them, but also complete lack of concern for employees' mental and physical health. It's not just one person. All management I encountered, middle and upper, have zero people skills, just like to hear themselves talk, or push valid concerns aside. Or all of the above. Like being threatened by management from day one even as one customer after another praises your professionalism, knowledge, and customer service? Here's your place! Expect to be able to take lunch? How about not having to spend extended time fixing the unstable computer they gave you? Or maybe not to have to spend time off the clock fixing that computer because they offer no night tech support? Those would be unreasonable expectations according to the powers that be at Mural. You will be attacked and threatened by the micromanagers even as you spend your own time off the clock trying to fix their incompetence. Like a "People Care" team that's a rubber stamp for dangerous practices and bad management? It's waiting for you at Mural! As someone who has been a supervisor in an IT support center that provided phone support, if I had ever treated people like they do, I would be ashamed of myself. If I ever put people in real danger as they did, I would never forgive myself. They don't think twice. Want your health and family endangered during a pandemic? they do that for you, too! They even had a COVID-19 scare during my training and insisted we keep coming in person for a month. Masks under noses or even mouths. People not wearing masks at all for extended periods of time. No one in authority willing to do anything about it. Sr mgmt insisting we huddle around a whiteboard as we tried to maintain distance. Employee's car had tires stolen. Syringe caps and discarded underwear outside. No security."
