What do you like about working at McCurtain Memorial Hospital?
"I liked that it was in my home town and that there were some talented individuals that I worked with."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Definitely not somewhere you want to work as a RN. The CNO likes to degrade the employees in front of patients, patient families, and other employees. The CEO is very dictatorial. There is no structure. One minute they will tell you to follow this policy then a minute later it will change to something else without anything being written or actually implemented in a organized manner. This place needs a change in management for it to be a place worth investing your time and effort into. Reason being, if you try to bring about change, for the better, and you strive to improve the facility, as well as your credentials, the individuals in management will try to make your daily job much more difficult. For instance, in order for a nurse to obtain his or her ACLS certification he or she generally has to split a shift with someone so he or she can work and attend class because these individuals will not allow someone the opportunity to take the classes. Also, the raise they promise on gaining certifications is a lie, you may see your raise after a year or more of working with the certification. This is not saying that all the staff at this facility are this way. There are many talented nurses and doctors, however, management seems to put a hard thumb on their ability to improve the facility."
What don't you like about working at McCurtain Memorial Hospital?
"The drama, lack of organization, dictatorial type management, lack of professionalism, lying about changes for advancement as well as salary increases, lack of compassion, those are just to name a few"
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Simple: Get a new CEO who is actually from around the area or at the very least has a level head. Get a new CNO who has educational credentials that suit the position, meaning a minimum of a bachelors degree and also possessing clinical experience."
