1.3People say the benefits are great. But they don’t offer any benefits you can’t get else where. It’s basic.
The state as a whole has issues with the work environment and how the managers treat their employees. There are several investigations going on for harassment and improper treatment of employees by management.
10 major issues you should be aware of
1 they will harass you about your paid time off .. to the point of it being the legal definition of harassment. Example.. I had an upper level supervisor attempt to force me to never have to leave to take care of my child. She actually wrote something up and tried to make me sign it.
Another example ... I got sick once and was literally throwing up in the trash , and the supervisor wanted me to just deal with it and made it clear she didn’t want me to leave. I saw this same supervisor put pressure on another employee in our department who was obviously ill. In fact she ended up having to call in for a week after that because she was just that sick.
2 they lie ... all the time. Every time they wanted to put pressure on us to do things they had no right to ask, they always ,” HR says ...”, or “ we had a meeting with HR and they stated”. When I needed to leave to take care of my child with a diagnosis I was told that ,” HR wants you to find someone else to take care of your child”. Come to find out I was legally entitled to FMLA and they knew that.
3 the management does not care when other employees bully or harass other employees. In fact sometimes they encourage it. I found out that another employee was going to another floor to attempt to watch me coming and going , and another supervisor on the floor was in on it. This employee would purposely walk around the floor to watch me at my desk and report to this supervisor. She was constantly claiming that I was doing things that had nothing to do with my work and that I was not doing. Everyone knew about it and none of the supervisors in the unit did anything
