"not being challenged, very conformist culture. New ideas are not welcome. People are not appreciated for their jobs or effort."

"To appreciate the talent they have. To put more attention in assessments and promotions. To be fair an equal with employees. To stop spending money in useless things and services."

"The comapny uses situational interviewing, expecting applicants to answer in a STAR format. For those unfamiliar with the term STAR stands for situation, thinking, action and results."

What don't you like about working at National Grid?

"Upper managment decided that it was in the company's best interest to outsource IS and only keep project managers and contact managers in house."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"My opinion is that people with up-to-date technical skills and practical IS project experince is resource that ever mid-sized and large company should keep in-house. I would work to bring that expertise back in house or risk a falling out with your contractors causing a void in the support of your IS platforms."

"The company seems to always be in react-mode. Due to its grant funding, a long range planning horizon is usually not more than the current grant year."

"Having a single major source of funding is a handicap when making long-range plans. Find additional sources."

"Office space, the equipment I work with, flexibility, office location, good company events, relaxed dress code."

"Ask yourself if you really want to be part of a company that is managed under Mexican culture, that means, ineffective programming of projects, personal relations are more important than business or work performance. When interviewed analyze the position and ask if it has any growth or career path after 3 years."

What don't you like about working at North American Development Bank?

"0 rewards, no promotions, incompetent people,. there is no real growth, mediocre atmosphere, new ideas are rejected, you could get rusty when the same tasks are given to you, unbalanced salaries, no appreciation of career experience, talents. No real value or impact of personnel appraisals"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"To value the real talent that they have and stop wasting money and time in things that are irrelevant or for personal profit."

"The freedom to accomplish any and all goals without a lot of politics. The Director has complete confidence in my decision making processes, documentation and thoroughness."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"My tip(s) would be to ensure that the candidate can be responsible for accomplishing goals in an efficient manner without supervision. The candidate should have excellent documentation and customer service skills."

What don't you like about working at Culver City, CA?

"I do not have the opportunity to bounce ideas off of my colleagues because I do not have any. I have no room for growth. I have maximized my growth here a few years ago. All the knowledge that I have and am currently acquiring are not being maximized nor utilized to its fullest capabilities."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Keep an eye on the employees who show initiative and drive and support that desire whether it be at a minimum good job and maximum bonuses or at least help pay for continued education or compensate in some form or another. I came to Culver City in the second year of my bachelors and no I am in the Doctorate program with no help or support from my employer but yet they benefit from all the knowledge I have acquired. I have not seen a raise in three years. I am dedicated but it is time to move on."
