Working at Health Choice in Phoenix, AZ: 1 Employee Reviews

Health Choice Employee

"I worked at Health Choice Arizona full-time (More than 8 years). Pros: you get entertained by the insanity. Cons: This is an honest review from someone knowledgeable, based off what has been seen at this company for several years. Policies are written to be completely meaningless so that management can do whatever they want. They can get away with everything. Supervisors don't do anything all day long - they put all the administrative burden on clerks and low level staff. There is absolutely no legitimate oversight. Nobody is held accountable. Hiring is not based on what you know, it's who you are friends with. This is true all over the company and not limited to a certain department. No one communicates effectively. You have to clarify, confirm and re-verify everything before getting a simple yes or no answer to a simple question. Everything has to be decided by a committee of interdepartmental leadership, even for something that doesn't involve multiple departments. There is absolutely zero training. All you get is a little bit of side by side training in certain departments if you are lucky or they have you read a desktop procedure that is outdated and doesn't help you understand how to do your job. If the Director or Vice President of a department tells you to read the policy in order to learn how to do your job, I say, good luck in trying to figure that out-there aren't even instructions there! They keep the bad apples and fire anyone who actually thinks. If you can type and show up you are hired. However, if you think - don't bother applying. There is no quality and there is no way anyone in this company would pass a government inspection if the government actually looked at the work or spoke to the right people. Unfortunately (the one thing they do well it seems) management ensures that the work the government would look at during an inspection is mistake-free."
