GE Aviation is a subsidiary of General Electric, an American multinational conglomerate with operations in many different markets. Based in Evandale, Ohio, GE Aviation is one of the leading producers of aircraft engines and avionic systems in the world. General Electric entered the aviation industry in 1917 during World War I and formed GE Aviation as a result, fully realizing its potential during World War II by developing the first jet engine used in an American military aircraft.

Today GE Aviation engines power many of the world's most popular aircraft, including the Boeing 747 and 777 series airliners. GE Aviation has a reputation in the aviation industry of forming profitable and productive partnerships with other aviation companies to create innovative advancements in aircraft systems.
