"I worked for Essilor of America for a little under a year. Essilor is one of the largest lens providers in the world with pioneer lens coating technology Crizal. Essilor also established the Essilor Vision Foundation which helps provides free eye exams and prescription lenses to children around the world who otherwise would not be able to afford them. While my time was short, it was enjoyable with very few negatives."

Upper management enjoys big bonuses at all costs. IT has evolved into a sweat shop. Extremely poor leadership especially in IT."

What don't you like about working at Essilor of America?

"I've seen to many double standards of which were shown and said in meetings with supervisors. Only follow rules in print. Plant manager does not like women it's clear. If it's your supervisor he takes it down hill to the lead people them."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I went to work at Essilor Of America two years after my heart transplant. They didn't know until several years later. For years, the average life expectancy of a heart transplant recipient was reported and posted on numerous medical internet sites as TEN (10) years. I worked at Essilor for 8 years and received positive annual reviews and raises. Strangely though, at on 1month into my 9th year I was informed that I would be changing and rotating shifts. when the UTSW Transplant Co-Ordinator advised that this could raise the risk of organ rejection, Essilor relented and instead offered me a position reporting to a supervisor (same level peer) that had received a negative evaluation and limited raise due to her refusal / inability to interact with both myself and whose shift work production had increased / improved during periods when I ran her shift during her temporary absence. I will always believe that I was forced to resign in order for essilor to avoid Essilor's anticipation of insurance costs and premiums. This company can never expect a loyal employee base as it has no loyalty or regard for it's employees. I believe that if I had access to personnel files and inter-office memos along with a good lawyer, there would be no Essilor Of America.Could go on with some many things it's not funny."
