Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Know your job well no chance for failure because you have to think quick on your feet in most situations. Need to get communications back working ASAP."

What don't you like about working at DRS Technologies?

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Good and bad. The left hand doesn't know what the right isdoing."

What do you like about working at DRS Technologies?

"If you're in the right group, you can learn lots of stuff. But it can just as easily be exactly the opposite."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Ask if you are going to be assigned to a project that has been handed over from another division of DRS (Dallas or Cypress, CA). If so, be ready for the headaches and missing information and lack of cooperation from the other end when you ask for something from them. There has been a lot of turnover lately in the company."

What don't you like about working at DRS Technologies?

"The multiple divisions of DRS across the country seem to have a total disconnect as far as working together as a team."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Make sure standards for software engineering are actually enforced all the way up and down the chain of command."

Business Development Manager

"I learned a lot about politics and how adults in power act like teenage girls."

What do you like about working at DRS Technologies?

"Interesting and challenging work given that the customers were ready to leave because of extremely poor quality and lack of processes. In spite of all that, the work was still interesting. There were tons of problems, but there were lots of opportunities to solve the problems if the management would just get out of the way."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Ask about the politics. Ask about the culture in the CincinnatI office (most are just waiting for the operation to fold). Ask why the management keeps changing. Ask why the company hasn't closed the CincinnatI operation. Ask if it will be closed soon and what opportunities are available for you when that office closes."

What don't you like about working at DRS Technologies?

"Constant change in upper management at the local level. They don't understand their costs, and certainly don't understand how to do a proper estimate (and they wonder why they lose hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars). I saw 4 GMs in a 3 year period. Lots of political games going on as well."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Get out of the way and let the people do their jobs. Get a handle on your supply chain department and your engineering department."

"I enjoyed the people and the work itself. The job was non repetitive, and I was able to self motivate on a daily basis."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Just be prepared to be completely honest, as this company deals mostly in Government contracts, and requires a security clearance."

What don't you like about working at DRS Technologies?

"I did not enjoy the fact that the position was relocated to the other side of the country, with no other opportunities in this region."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I feel that upper management should take the time to look at their employees and the things that those employees have to offer the company. Most senior level managers do not know the lower level workers that work for them, or the skills that they have or have acquired."
