Director of Recruiting at Global Recruiters Network
in Las Vegas, NV

Please give us a one liner to describe this review.

"I enjoyed my experience with GRN it was great!"

What do you like about working at Global Recruiters Network?

"I was a wonderful company to work for. I felt at home and welcomed from the moment that I stepped in the door."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Always be prepared and know your industry/profession. It is important that you present yourself as who you are and not what you think an employer wants. Your experience and talents is what attracted the employer to you, thus expand on that and build yourself in truth not in fantasy."

What don't you like about working at Global Recruiters Network?

"Business wasn't growing in the direction in needed. Thus, it cause mgmt to make the hard decision to reduce staff."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Experience should be the major factor. A candidate who has hands on experience should always be considered. There are times where circumstances may not afford an individual to get all the schooling, but their experience is far more advanced and is a plus! Take a chance and look to build a person! A candidate may not have all 10 qualities that you want...that gives you an opportunity to build that employee. A person with all 10 qualities will not have anything else to learn and thus will get bored in their job. Where as a person who has things to learn will not get bored and want to learn more. Everyone deserves a chance...if a person is to get the experience it has to start somewhere!"

Director of Recruiting at Armchem
in Atlanta, GA

What do you like about working at Armchem?

"no upside limit, opportunity for jobs in a tough market"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I worked as an independent contractor for Armchem for close to two years (2009-2011) in the position of recruiting director. I have experienced most of the complaints first hand and feel that I am in the best position to fairly discuss issues regarding the Company.Simply put the job is selling Restroom Supplies, Safety Products and Specialty Chemicals door to door to the myriad of business that use these products. It is a door to door salesman job that requires constant and daily cold calling, the ability to close a sale and the skill to service the account in order to build customer loyalty and repeat sales. This is a job that takes a dedicated effort every day. If a person has the skills and determination a business can be built by keeping to the basics, every day, every week for a number of years. What business doesnt take a number of years to build Historically, most people who enter this type of sales position fail, only a small percentage survive and thrive. Armchem is well aware of this and after their 20 plus years of recruiting sales people they have established a program that attempts to limit the money they lose in training people, weeding out the candidates that they feel for one reason or another do not have what it takes, while finding the few who do. It is not a perfect or pleasant process but it works for the Company and for those that embrace the opportunity. Believe me, there are many salespeople making over 6 figures in theCompany.Often new recruits fail to carefully scrutinize the contract they sign and most fail to read or remember the paragraph stipulating a 90 day period after they leave or are let go before they will receive any monies they are owed. This ninety day period allows the Company to recover sales samples and materials and to field any customer complaints that may have occurred.Problems arise when a salesperson leaves for whatever reason and then immediately starts demanding money he or she feels owed prior to the 90 days ending. They sometimes threaten, they sometimes dont return samples, they sometimes have customer complaints and they sometimes write negative blogs. This gets the Company angry, communication stops and these disagreements remain. Both sides lose. Common sense tells you however, that a recruit that didnt work out is not a high priority on the Companys to do list and approaching management in a professional way is critical to getting a problem solved. I have seen complaints about this being a family owned Company and it is. Personally, I have met all members of the family and I can tell you it is no accident that Armchem is a true successstory, it came from a smart group of people working very hard to build something for themselves, their families and their workers. Certainly there are things that we all see in businesses we get involved with that we feel should be changed, however, that has nothing to do with being a family business. The Armchem family and its extended family of sales, warehouse, shipping and administration people have earned their success. After reading this if you feel you have a valid complaint I suggest you call the Company in acivil manner and get it resolved. If you are looking for a way to build a business and care for your family and you feel like you have what it takes call the Company and inquire about opportunities in your area. Yes, they are always looking for good people."

What don't you like about working at Armchem?

"1099 structure limits the opportunity to those that can obtain healthcare elsewhere as from a spouse."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"they should experiment with trying some innovation in their sales approach."

Director of Recruiting at Hospital Corporation of America

Please give us a one liner to describe this review.

"A very challenging and rewarding experience."

What do you like about working at Hospital Corporation of America?

"The people. I enjoyed the challenges of directing the recruiting efforts for each on our nine hospitals. It was rewarding to find the right candidates for the right positions knowing they were going to be helping and taking care of our patients within our communities."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"It's a great company with great people, My tip would be to make sure everyone is onboard with the position."

What don't you like about working at Hospital Corporation of America?

"Not all of the Executive Management team was onboard with building a centuralized recruiting center which I was hired to build. Pro-active recruiting was not a priority."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Pro-active recruiting is important in order to find the best of the best candidates for each of the hospitals. It's my suggestion that they do move forward with building a central recruiting center at some point so each hospital is not competing against each other for candidates, cut the cost of advertising individually/separately, and to build a strong central database of candidates for all 9 hospitals."

Director of Recruiting at Perficient
in Monroe, OH

What do you like about working at Perficient?

"I am surrounded by strong Co-Workers who have good work ethics."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Look at the business unit you will be working for and learn more about the type of work they are doing and the hiring managers. Ask to talk to someone who recently hired into that group. There are many different styles and cultures intertwined. Your satisfaction will be effected most by your immediate supervisor."

What don't you like about working at Perficient?

"Recent changes have made the atmosphere negative and demotivating. Many high level people are feeling micromanaged and disenfranchised. The only goal is to get to 500 Million, but there is little overriding strategy to make that goal. It has become all about utilization and cost cutting. There is little investment in employee development and satisfaction. Focus has moved from value added repeatable solutions to resource managed staffing."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Listen more to the people on the field level and try to drive an overall strategy that focuses on the future as well as the here and now. Worry less about Utilization and EPS and more about culture and career satisfaction of employees. Recognize that good smart people work here and need to be empowered t make good decisions."
