"Care is stagnent and there is little to no ability to move. The reward and punishment system is ineffectual so if you are not self motivated to excel there's not going to be any outside push. Some of the major benefits, that draw people to work here, turn out not to exist."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"focus on giving veterans care they need, not care they want. Utilize best practices and stay more current on both tech and concepts"

"The opprtunity to work for different services. You can apply for a position that mostly fits you, but the procedure is too long. Also I've applied to numerous postions that I believe I qualify, but I don't get a chance."

"Flexibility, benefits, vacation and sick days the pension plan is excellent and the schedule."

"Employees produce more when they have fun at work. Employees don't like to be pushed around"

"Time to get promoted, they should have a job fair at least once a year"

"Have a job fair at least twice a year, that way employee would get promoted easier"

"Hospital experience, steam and condensate experience. Challenging yet rewarding tasks and responsibilities"

"According to the new directive, unless you are a veteran, you most likely will not make it to an interview!"

"It was not a permanent position. So, after almost three years of getting to know the facility, time and money ran out! Not to mention missing my fellow work mates."

"Hire non-veterans to permanent positions! Especially when you find a perfect fit for the job being filled."

"I really enjoyed working with the veterans and giving back to patients that have done so much for our country."

"This is a good place to work if you are not looking to advance your career."

"There were not many opportunities for advancement. Prior to new managment towards the end of my career with VA the management was poor."

"To provide support for the nukrses and increase the morale by encouragement and more education opportunities"

"Unorganized, my position was too demnding and there is no uward mobility I felt stuck"

"Not much.. Salaries could be more competitive and at par with the private industry."

"Keep the good work! I think is admirable the work that everyone that work for the VAMC does for our vets."

"Too much freedom means limited opportunities to really impact change at any level."

"Innovation in government means facing tough issues head on. Direct communicaiton, data analytics, and more private industry focused programs is the way to go."
