"Although my title is cost estimator, I do not perform many cost analysis for projects. I complete more work for project and contractor reviews. I would like more experience with cost estimating itself."
"Project manager is very rewarding, in my eyes. Just knowing and making sure a job gets done on schedule on time and with budget, has so many rewards, to see a big commercial or residential job get complete, shows the quality of someone's work."

"I am trusted to make the proper decisions regarding the projects that I am working on and my boss does not get in the way of finishing a project."

"My only tip would be to negotiate the best salary prior to beginning work at the company."

"I don't like the minimal potential for advancement within the company due to being a small company."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would suggest that in order to keep good people working at the company that a bonus plan should be initiated to take care of the employees that are working hard and closing construction jobs."

"Progressive: worked with laser and telecom components. Most coworkers were helpful and friendly."

"Good place if you have the knack to rebuild character and reputation of mid-sized companies that have faultered."
What don't you like about working at Coherent?
"One particular supervisor was a jerk. Fired me. But, I was hired same day by a great boss. Moved into sales as estimator."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Avoid me too products. Be passionate about your lead in the market. Know that because you are on top someone will eat your lunch. Keep fresh."

"Company did not devote enough time for future business development."

"Be more aggressive in securing future projects. Manage finances better."

"I was let go from Raytheon in March of this year. I am unemployed."

"Raytheon is a huge company, there is plenty of opportunity to learn and be led."

"Tucson is a city for a more established individual (married couples,retirees). I missed the city features and family."

"The CEO of the company was very good to work with."

"Be sure to get a clear description of the job position and all of its responsibilities and requirements."

"There was not any mentorship or guidance offered. The only teaching moments came about when mistakes were made."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Do a better job of training employees. Companies have better employees when they are well trained."
