"Since the job was temporary, I did not have any type of benefits."

"I feel that they should have gotten a temp. a little sooner than they did."

"Management is not organized. They don't understand their requirements for hiring."

"When promoting someone to management, need to look at the person's experience."

"I enjoyed working for Chenega Federal. They care about their employees back east, but they screwed up handling the Anchorage office which got them the federal government jobs."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Senior management lacked focus on how to handle the Anchorage office. They also lacked expertise in contract management to be able to handle DISA and Northrup Grumman. There fore they succumbed to pressure to return assets (the entire office furniture, computer equipment and phones.) they were not legally required to so, as this equipment is part of the cost of doing work.This left staff literally sitting on the floor with nothing to do. Hence we all left.Before this fiasco it was a great place to work."

What don't you like about working at Chenega?

"Lack of knowledge of contract issues, when they are in the contract business."

"What the hell did you do to the Anchorage office!"

"The freedom"

"Its contract work. You will be on site else where and the people that work there are great. You will have little contact with UM."

What don't you like about working at Chenega?

"Upper management (this is what you get when you dump a bunch of former DoD people in the civilian world.) They mean well..."

"Autonomy - I was given tasks, and left alone, so I could use my processes."

"Be honest, be forward. Let them know what you can do for them - but be ready to deliver. This is a no-BS company!"

"There were a couple of middle managers there that didn't seem to see the big picture. They are probably no longer there."

"Hire former military men and women for upper management (I think they do this already, though) - Guys like Ray and Dave in Jacksonville, FL."

"It's a great company to work for. It's small enough that there is a real relationship with company leaders, but large enough to provide a sense of stability."

"I can't say there is anything I do not enjoy about working for CFS. It's a great company."
