3 CGG is a VERY BAD company to work for. It is French owned (HQ in Massy, France) and is subject to dictate by French trade unions in every matter of life, including technological decisions. Their local hiring policies (in Calgary) smack of inverted racism, with strong preference to Chinese. The company is incredibly bureaucratic, and does not have direction; its software development strategy is nothing but chaos. The company is committed to an opens space concept, with no privacy whatsoever.

4.1 Good workplace. Every employee has his/her own cabin to work in. I started to work as a contractor. But due to company policies, this job cannot be converted to full time. Good people to work with. Very little chance of getting promoted

5 CGG is a great company. They are a leader in the Geophysical and offshore activity and they have the most upto date technology.
