Carnival Cruise Lines Careers & Info

Current CEO: Arnold Donald

Status: Active

Carnival’s President and CEO Gerry Cahill ensures that the company practices not only the concepts of total quality management, but also the management philosophy and framework necessary for successful applications of those principles. An example is Carnival’s recent announcement of partnership with several celebrities, including comedian George Lopez, DJ Irie and Guy Fieri, a star of the Food Network. All of these collaborations are focused on developing and expanding the Fun Ship 2.0 program, which the company intends to use to ensure that Carnival remains the leading cruise ship operator in the world.

George Lopez will be the comedy creative director, and Guy Fieri will develop Guy’s Burger Joint as DJ Irie creates and develops DJ Irie’s Spin’iversity, which will train onboard DJs and develop their musical skills. EA Sports will create Carnival’s EA Sports Bar, and Hasbro will create and develop a new series of entertainment activities that will be billed as “Hasbro, The Game Show.” All of these additions and enhancements are components of the Fun Ship 2.0 program. The Carnival Liberty is the first of 14 ships that will host many of the new Fun Ship 2.0 enhancements, beginning in October 2011.

All of these enhancements exemplify Carnival’s commitment to quality and excellence. It already is the world’s leading cruise operator, with approximately 100 ships operating under a dozen cruise brands, only one of which is Carnival Cruise Lines. Carnival Corporation also owns and operates cruise line brands such as Princess Cruise Lines, Holland America, Seabourn, AIDA, P&O Cruises, Costa Cruises and Cunard. Carnival’s cruise line brands are specific to geographical areas. Cunard serves trans-Atlantic luxury cruises. Carnival Cruise Lines remains the flagship brand.

Working at Carnival Cruise Lines appears to be joy with a paycheck attached. Carnival Cruise culture is such that employees are committed to excellence and are dedicated to providing guests with superlative experiences that make them want to return and tell their friends how enjoyable their Carnival cruise was. Basic Carnival Cruise Lines benefits were standard prior to the recession, but today they outpace the benefits offered by Carnival’s cruise line competitors. Employees enjoy those traditional benefits, but the one they most frequently mention is the opportunity to see other parts of the world while working in a pleasurable environment. Carnival’s customers can see the clear result of the open and respectful culture that Carnival maintains for its employees. From the passenger perspective, it is clear that only satisfied employees can offer the superlative service they lavish on passengers, complete with broad and genuine smiles. Carnival Cruise careers are fun, satisfying and rewarding.
