What do you like about working at Boeing?

"I was on the 787-3 program in the early stages, working on the current Flight Test Plane #1, that still has not flown and is over 2 years behind schedule. This is to be expected on a Prototype Aircraft to some extent, but the supply chain is in serious disarray and prevented any real work from being accomplished on numerous occasions. I found conflict with Management at times and even threatening, but I came into worse situations with some of the Leads that are assigning work tasks, to intentionally mislead me into doing something that caused damage to the Aircraft that I was working on at the time. This did not amuse me, and there were a lot of other bad situations like this, in the sense that I didn't look twice at the S.O.I. (Shop Order Instance), and W.I.D. (Work Instruction Document), to confirm that what another Manufacturing Technician was doing at the time, was right, before joining in and lending a hand to complete the task. This led to even more, errors in the assembly of these Aircraft. Many problems that I could have avoided by re-reading, a lot to make sure that what was being done, was being done right."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"It's a great Company, if you can stick around in a Good Program, that has been established years ago and not the New World Order/Globalization Program of Boeing."

What don't you like about working at Boeing?

"$12.72/Hour, starting wage, was a real slap in the face, for me. Since, I have 155 College Credit Hours, in everything from Manufacturing skills, to a Journeyman's License in the Electrical Trade, and I was being paid the same as someone with no experience or College, that I know of and their last job was at Arby's."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"We can't sell, sell, sell (the Work Orders/Completion of Work), without the right tools, materials, fasteners or parts and the Leads, need to do research of the S.O.I.'s before they just hand them out to the different Manufacturing Technician's to do the work. There are a lot of S.O.I.'s that have been passed through numerous different individuals that have caused damage on that specific S.O.I. and it's Materials/Parts and the job can't be done, but none of the damage has been addressed through an Emergent Process Document and the damage is three months old, etc."
