Submit a Review"There was nothing I loved about bartending here; everything is terrible as a bartender at this company. The wait staff tip out was a joke for the effort you put in to make drinks and the drink recipes require so much effort for such a little return that it isn't even worth it. Do not bartend here; I have tended bar at multiple bars and restaurants and this is by far the worst one."
"I love being a bartender at the Andaz because the majority of the guests are from out of town and I love giving them advice on what to do in LA. I hate that I don't work more often."
"There is a lot to love about being a bartender. The tips are always great as long as I am great. Being able to laugh and joke with people while working is a great thing to have. Being in charge of how much you're able to make is great. The sky's the limit. The downside of being a bartender is having to deal with customers that may have had a little too much to drink, thus causing me to put on my responsible hat and calming them down."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Don't expect any cooperation from management. Expect low pay and extreme personal bias from managers."
What don't you like about working at Ovations Foodservice?
"Overpowering management that has no concept of the job, management seems to be offended that I make more money than them and tries everything they can to cut my pay. Management going crazy with write ups that are always unjustified. No respect for time on job or excellent performance ratings. Constant harassment!"
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Fire current manager and get someone with fewer mental issues. Delusions of grandeur."
What do you like about working at Hooters?
"The schedules are flexible, the girls are wonderful to work with and if you are good at being a server the money is decent."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Your coworkers will be great, but be prepared to be overworked, underpaid and treated badly by the corporate office, who cuts corners to make a profit. One manager went so far as to change our hours on our paychecks to a maximum of forty hours (which is Illegal) and we could have filed a class action suite. Also, the company is wasteful, throws away tons of toxic foods and overall is awful for the environment."
What don't you like about working at Hooters?
"The company is cheap, treats its employees badly and the restaurant itself is disorganized and unsanitary. Usually they have cooks work all night before an inspection just to pass it. (UNPAID!) It's a miracle that it is even open, if people knew how dirty it was they wouldn't eat there."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"The Hooters corporate office doesn't care about its employees, the environment or anything besides meeting the bottom line. They cut corners and people get hurt in the process."
What do you like about working at TGI Fridays?
"I like my co-workers, getting to move around all day, I like talking to people. They are flexible with your schedule, I walk out with cash everyday."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Show that you are happy, energetic, and competent. You NEED to be able to multitask and work well under pressure. If you get the job, make sure you have tough skin. Some customers are going to be outright rude to you. Some customers are not going to tip you no matter how good of a job you did."
What don't you like about working at TGI Fridays?
"We are only negatively reinforced. You are never recognized for any good work you do but are punished for anything wrong that you do. Shifts are given out on seniority, not on who does a better job and is a better employee. You get half off only up to five dollars. With so many coupons and promotions our customers pay less to eat than we do. We cannot split our own checks. We cannot open our own drawers. If I have to go to the bathroom I am supposed to sign a paper that says I am taking a ten minute break. I get asked to fix other peoples mistakes daily. Our general manager will find things to yell at people about if he is having a bad day, like coming into the office to pay him..."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would reward my employees for doing well, I would give better shifts to better workers, and enforce the same rules for everyone. I would give my employees half of their ENTIRE meals. I would give them Thanksgiving and Christmas off. I would let them open their own cash drawers and split their own checks."

"Yes, be dedcated, persistant, show dsire to be part of the company and what you can do to help them."

"There is nothing I dislike about Fager's, it's an amazing place, I'm just looking for a sales opportunity where I can utalize my education and excel at a career."

"The management at Fager's does a wonderful job. They know their staff very well and not only supervise them but help guide in how to better achieve goals."

"the salary was not enough and want to use my degree for something more challenging"

"Manager could be more organized and less critical of his staff"

"I love being able to multi-task, and working with the public. there is an ability to be creative and there is a big support group with other coworkers."

"Be yourself, be strong, but always be flexible to what the company needs. That is the service they are paying us for."

"The thing I like least about working with the company is the lack of advancement opportunities."

"Allow employees to take on more responsibility. I beleive it will help both the Company and the employee grow together and have a lot stronger working relationship."

"I enjoyed that I got to meet a bunch of people from all walks of life that I probly wouldnt have had the chance to meet if I had not worked for the company."

"I personally would not suggest to anyone that they go to this bar to work but if I had to say something I would tell them to beware of some of the customers they are a handful."

"The fact that when some people would get drunk I was more like a babysitter than a bartender."

"I would suggest that they find other employs who do not drink so that the bar would have been better ran on other shifts"

"The company rewards hard honest work, it is family owned and operated, and the managers who run the stores are involved and trust the word of their employees."

"The general nature of the food industry is demanding both mentally and physically and there are days that are not lucrative and the income is unstable."

"More care needs to be taken when training new employees."

"Work hard, you will be appreciated. Do not get too comfortable though, otherwise you may get stuck there like the others."

"The building was not well maintained and the area brought in difficult guests."

"Do not always assume that the customer was right, because there are many customers here that lie to get a free meal."

"Always work your hardest. The work I do, when nobody is watching, is what brings me the most pride."

"Corporate keeps a close watch on everyone, making outside-thinking impossible. Everyone opperates like robots for fear of being written up for simple mistakes."

"Show your employees that you are working the hardest by helping them do their job, when you have a free time."
