"When asking for a reference, you have to go through so many people, and then you don't get the kind of reference you get from most jobs."

"Nothing I say would have an impact for change. I've done my best for 10-plus years."

"I like overseas travel, and the challenge of a dynamic contract I support of the US military."

"Make sure you are aware, understand, and are willing to work and live in bad living conditions."

"Working in war zones was the only opportunity in 11 years."

"Provide more opportunity for stateside deployments outside of government contracting."

"They are the nicest group of people I've ever worked with."

"Go in with a smile on your face and a smile in your heart."

"I've worked in the Middle East for the last two years, first in Iraq and then in Bahrain. The only negative thing is the weather."

"None, the master electricians I worked for did a great job under the circumstances."

"I liked the opportunity to work on the LOGCAP III program and to help the primary customer, the US Army."

"If you want the job, it is really beneficial to know someone in a position to hire to recommend you."

"I disliked the politics of the culture surrounding the leadership of the government services group - not very professional."

"Stop seeking to employ/promote personnel based on personal relationships, rather than on actual capabilities."

"I like getting paid a decent salary, which allows me to pay for my ridiculously expensive student loans."

"I would recommend that they negotiate their salary and not just accept their initial offer."

What don't you like about working at KBR?

"My main job is to design a safe, economic, and timely structural design to support process equipment and loads. However, I rarely have the proper definition in order to perform my job. This leads to a lot of estimating and guessing, which in turn creates a lot of rework. The time demand does not align with the amount of information I am given."

"If I were running the show, I would have a more casual atmosphere."

"Just keep your eyes open and expect the unexpected. Always keep an open mind and look forward to the opportunity."

"I thought KBR as a whole was great, and I am thankful for the opportunity."

"I thought management was great and very upfront about everything."

"I liked being empowered to ensure effective network operations. It was team oriented, and there were open lines of communication throughout the leadership chain."

"Ensure your references are good, relax for the interviews, and cross your t's and dot your i's. Throwing a line of bull does not help anyone; you discredit yourself in addition to possibly damaging a company's reputation."

What don't you like about working at KBR?

"It is very hard to break the good ole boy network. After numerous attempts, my progression was based on ability and a proven track record, and not the who you know mentality."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I think management needs to be more open-minded and listen to what people have to say. A manager may manage, but without the team you are not a manager. Everyone should have a voice."
