"As is all too common, at the bottom you find the best people. But as you move upward you find that those setting the tone/culture/direction of the company (CxO) are ill-prepared to run a company with a complicated product in a complicated market space, with skilled technical talent. If you are allowed to focus on what you do, the partner-reseller model is a lot of fun, with lots of travel, and opportunities as an SE to teach/train partners on how they can be successful."
