"This is a great company that is employee-focused. They believe in training their employees, providing many different ways for the employees to grow both technically and magisterially. They also have provided us with access to interesting and diverse speakers, everyone from Brent Spiner to Donald Knuth. The work is challenging and the management team is supportive and for the most part, upfront and honest with the employee when he/she has an issue. They believe that just because you work in a remote location you are not a second class employee and they work hard and continue to make that a priority. They believe that open and honest communication is important and they "walk the walk""

"Making the transition from small and agile to large and responsive"

What don't you like about working at VMware?

"Any more, there are just too many engineers needed to only hire the best, but the change to processes that help more average engineers make it far less comfortable for the brilliant people who have been there since they were small and hired only brilliance."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Keep your race horses in a different stable from your plow horses, and don't make them race with yokes on."
