"The inability of administrative staff to do their job and provide support at a professonal level and appropriate level of competency."

"Treat professionals in the field like true professionals. Look to the real needs of the people in the mix and help as needed and when needed."

"Financial compensation is relatively good for the area and the elementary schools are good."

"If you want a job that gives you a check this place accepts the average. If you want a place where you are free to implement ideas and change children you might look somewhere else."

"The creativity usually promoted by school districts is frowned uppon here. They want results with no buy in for new programs."

"would overhaul administration on both the building and district level"

"The teachers here are very nice and supportive. The best part of my day is making small talk with the teachers."

"Find somewhere else to be. Unless you are going to become a specialist where you sit on your butt and do nothing all day you might as well just clean toilets."
What don't you like about working at Hollandale School District ?
"The administration is unorganized. Teachers find out everything at the last minute and are punished for trying to do the right thing for their students. The hours are long and there is no appreciation for anything extra that is done. The administration often takes the good work that teachers do and claim new ideas and good work as their own and as soon as it stops going well, all the blame is put on the teachers. The students needs are largely ignored. Many students show signs of social and emotional distress and there are no services provided to help them. The one person who is supposed to do this job never does it."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would listen to teacher and parent concerns and honestly try to meet their needs. I would offer students more social and emotional support and take mental health issues more seriously."

"The unprofessionalism of the small, private school. Parents tend to have too much control over policies and operations."

"The Board of Directors should not allow conflicts of interest as parents and friends of parents to influence their decisions."

"I enjoyed working with the kids. All of the staff was friendly."

"The school closed down because of lack of funding. I hated that we had to leave."

"Management was very efficient and understanding. Fundraising and grant searching should have been more of a priority."

"Nothing the department head was great to work for, and I would go back in a heart beat."

"Yes: RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO money, work you 'til you die! No room to grow as a teacher. You want more...of anything....you have to leave the classroom to get promoted"

"Absolutely everything else! POOR management, horrible parental control, and lack of passion"

"Go back to school, practice having some backbone, exercise your morals and principles, fire some of your principals"
