"As with many newsrooms, you're as good as your last story. Unfortunately, you don't have much control over what story you're working on. The staff is the biggest in the market, so there are toys (extra photogs, chopper, etc) at your disposal - but don't expect to be recognized for good work. The staff is all eager to succeed and that's a good thing - but dreams are easily squashed by management. There is a formula and you either fit in it or you don't. There's no room for negotiation."
