"Truly the best career choice I have ever made! This company listens to its people, and goes out of its way to show them how valuable they are. People rarely quit, are seldom fired, but most departures are due to retirees - this shows me what a great place it truly is."

Systems Engineer

"I like working for Sentry but I don't see the advancement I'm looking for."

What do you like about working at Sentry Insurance?

"The flexibility of working when I need. I Have 3 small kids and need to stay home with them on occasion. I average 50 plus hours a week working for Sentry which I don't mind because I love what I do but I normally can't work a 9 to 5 sitting at my desk. Working from my desk and from home is desired."

Medical plan is HORRIBLE, dental is iffy. It you need a job for a year or so, this is a good place to hang while you get your head on straight."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Tell them how much you love metal working and metal working machinery. How well you know you know how to prospect and can talk shop or relate with blue color machine worker types. Also that you can get past gate keepers and do have the ability to speak with a more sophisticated owner."

What don't you like about working at Sentry Insurance?

"Busy work, people at the home office trying to justify their jobs. Super high turn over rate. Old school way of doing business. Not competetive on almost anything. Most current employees are disgruntled or looking for greener pastures. Very limited market to sell too, bothering the same people for quotes year after year. Everyone cheats on quotes.
