"I enjoy the people that I work with, we team up to complete assignments and projects. The prospect of having a secure retirement is a plus.The City of Redlands itself has a great music and art community which is interesting."

"Read the job description carefully, be confident, listen to the questions and answer honestly."
What don't you like about working at City of Redlands?
"The salary is not commensurate with current pay in private industries. There is little or no room for career advancement, as once a person holds a management position, they hold the job for years."
What do you like about working at BNY Mellon?
"There may be conversion to full time status if hiring freeze is lifted. Great colleagues, I love my team mates. Fantastic location, downtown Manhattan, beautiful walks in the Hudson River Park, very close by. Lots of interesting things to do in my position, varied tasks which I love. Good position overall"

"Not much interaction with other departments, so not very many networking, social opportunities."

"Keep my skills current and, if hired permanently, there is room for advancement. I reside well within commutable distance (less than 10 miles)."

"There is no good benefits (i.e., health, dental, vision, 401K, etc.). There was no pay for holidays and only 5 days of PTO per year."

"Compensation is great! Salary and benefits are well above average."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"While J&J is a family of many operating companies, be forewarned that movement and rotations are not so easy to come by. Politics makes this a tough environment and most times creates lack of vision and fosters poor morale."
What don't you like about working at Johnson & Johnson?
"Management doesn't seem to understand how to control chaos. Management changes direction often only to change direction again. Being agile is important especially in this economy, but there seems to be a lack of understanding on how to manage through change. A lot of managers should not be people managers because they lack interpersonal skills."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Senior management should introduce real people skills as part of management development programs. Give up some of the politics - it really destroys morale and diminishes the perception of competency of management. This would be a HUGE cultural shift for this good ole boys club."

"One can quite easily get overloaded when they are good workers, but they are more apt to keep the under-performers than the over-performers."
