"Diversity in design work. I never know what type of designs I get to be challenged by."

"Sci-Port's a great company to be challenged by. Keep in mind it's a non-profit and you will not get the big bucks."

What don't you like about working at Sci-Port?

"There is no room for growth in my career."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"There should really be only one designer with us as a non-profit because there isn't enough workload to warrant two salary positions, but letting go the less-qualified of the two of us isn't an option for management. In today's economy, we need to trim the fat!"

"The staff was fantastic! If the position was still there I would definitely go back, but after I left the job was eliminated and outsourced."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"This is a very people oriented company, be prepared to meet new and interesting people and if you are not a people person this might not be the place for you."

What don't you like about working at Sci-Port?

"The center received a large portion of funding from private endowments and the state so it was difficult to ascertain when budget cuts came up if you were going to retain your position."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Management has changed several times since I first started working there. Difficult to tell without asking a current employee."
