"I understood a lot of the work that needed to be done, so my supervisor trusted me with the work. Also, co-workers showed good teamwork and helping customers were always self satisfying."

What don't you like about working at Safeway?

"There is not enough room to grow, and if you change your position you have to start over from the bottom."

"Don't judge a book by its cover or by their first impression."

"Safeway offered the opportunity to see the inner-workings of the grocery store business. I worked as a courtesy clerk, a helper clerk (maintaining inventory on the shelves) and as a front office assistant. I learned many aspects of the job and enjoyed working alongside the people."

"People applying for positions at Safeway should realize that they have a strong emphasis on customer service."

"I wish I had taken the opportunity to develop more skills and learn more from the management."

"I think the management of Safeway would be well served to have a better relationship with the employees, to include other employees in current issues facing the business and solicit ideas and offer opportunities for employees to engage."

"Yes, please go in with confidence and answer all questions, make sure you explain to them if you are currently in school or are in a certain organization."

"The hours change without notice. Some people need two weeks notice at the most."
