"There are a few really great people I've become friends with, but the company actively discourages its employees from any sort of social interaction unless on a break or at lunch, so these friendships can't be nurtured as much."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Cancel your interview immediately unless you are using this job opportunity as a way to pad your existing retirement fund for a few years before riding off into the sunset. This is where good ideas and innovation go to die."

What don't you like about working at Regional Transportation District?

"How much space do I have In no particular order:Workplace bullies are viewed as successful go-getters and make up the majority of middle- and upper-management.Equal Opportunity Employer claims are a farce. As long as you're in one of the EEOC protected classes (the more, the better) you have the flexibility to move and advance within the company. Otherwise get used to the glass ceiling.In practice, there are different performance standards and expectations based on the employee's EEOC statusThat's the way it's always been done, is usually the answer you receive if you ask why a specific process exists.Suggestions on ways to improve the business are either shot down immediately, or implemented by management without giving proper credit to the originator.All-hands meetings are just larger versions of departmental meetings--communication flow is basically one way.Like working under the microscope Come work for us as a union employee! We guarantee we'll match you up with a supervisor who gives you less freedom to do your job in a way that plays to your strengths than you give your 9 year old!"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Instead of finding ways to spend money we don't have so our budgets don't decrease, I would actively try and find ways to cut costs internally so our constituents could get what they are promised and ask for."
