Ranstad Employee Reviews for Anonymous Employee

"I worked a temporary contract with Ranstad. The contract lasted 6 months and was not renewed. The compensation was low and the benefits they offered were unsatisfactory and unaffordable. Ranstad does not offer paid holidays and does not allow accrual for time off. At the end of my contract, I contacted Ranstad to inquire if they had any other openings. They did not and I was told that they would contact me if anything became available. Ranstad then contacted the unemployment department and informed them that I "voluntarily quit" as I had not remained in contact with them, which has not resulted in my UI benefits being postponed. How can I "voluntarily quit" from a company that is not employing me? What obligation do I have to continue to contact a temporary staffing agency that has already told me they do not have any opportunities available? I am now about 2 weeks away from being homeless due to the cutoff of my unemployment benefits due to this ridiculous claim. If anyone is contacted by this agency for a temporary contract position, I have one word to say, "Beware!""
