"I left Frito very recently. As of late, the turnover has been growing. The pay structure is pay-for-performance. Basically, it’s 3 checks at base rate and overtime, and the 4th check would be your bonus hopefully. Sales goals are unrealistic and even if met, you will have accounts upset for excessive backstock. Also, this leads to out of dates, which you will get written up for if you exceed your allowance. Also, product that stores don't want is forced to your stores by district sales leaders--and that goes against your unsellables allowance. Many of the DSLs are straight out of college with no work experience, yet they are telling you how to do your job and also take all the credit for any success. Days are at least 12 hours a day with a variable rate of overtime, which is a joke. Too much work and stress just to sell chips. All the company cares about is the bottom line, no matter what. DO NOT APPLY HERE!!"

What do you like about working at PepsiCo?

"Absolutely nothing! This is by far the worst company I have ever worked for."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I have been at this company for 4 years. The only reason I stay is simple, I need a job. If you are contemplating working here, DON'T do it. I can't wait to get out, this is like a prison sentence."

What don't you like about working at PepsiCo?

"You are micro managed to the max. If you are making sales and unsaleable plan they leave you alone. If not then you are drilled like a criminal. They harass you on your days off. They use your personal cell phone as if it is a tool for them to reach you whenever they want."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Go to church, you're gonna need it. Decent people don't treat others the way you do."

What do you like about working at PepsiCo?

"Pay. Benefits. Job security. Professionalism. Leader in their type of business."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Understand that when they say long hours and holidays, they mean it. If you are quick with your hands, a team player, and have a spouse with a more flexible schedule for kids, then this may be a good job for you."

What don't you like about working at PepsiCo?

"Long work hours, sometimes 70+. Commission based pay. Lack of local leadership. Lack of communication. Retail. Waste. Being financially responsible for failed promotions. Was more of a delivery service than sales. Benefits program changing for worse."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Operating for long periods of time with less than 50% management positions filled hurts sales, communication, overall work environment. Promotions that do not work cost sales rep money, and exponentially more time to move around and try to get rid of. This takes up time and space, and generates a ridiculous amount of waste. The customers do not want this in their stores, and reps could be spending time running numbers and finding something that will grow their specific accounts. Therefore, current business practices go against the company's creed of doing all possible best serving accounts."
