What do you like about working at Peet's Coffee & Tea?

"Peets started off as an excellent place to work at, the staff was friendly and the training was great. They strive to breed passion for their products and train their employees extensively. It was a very friendly and energetic workplace."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you're interviewing for a part time barista job I say go for it. The bar is fun to work at and the products are good. When it comes to working in a management position and looking for growth I would choose a different company. They treat their shift leads like dirt."

What don't you like about working at Peet's Coffee & Tea?

"My manager was overbearing, my accomplishments were not recognized and the company politics drove me insane. Your work ethic is not put into play when you are being chosen for a promotion. Its all about who you know and how far you'll go to please them. If you get on the wrong persons bad side it could cost you your job. I would never work for a company who treats their employees this way ever again."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The micromanagement at peets breeds a negative place to work. Shift Leads are expected to do most of the work when it comes to running the store, leaving the manager with little to do besides the schedule. I found myself overworked and underpaid. I was constantly the cash controller, I would put in most if not all the orders, I would maintain the stores cleanliness and train all new employees. My work did not reflect my pay, peets must bring more attention to the amount of work their shift leads are doing and pay them accordingly."
