MEDSEEK Anonymous Employee
in Arroyo Grande, CA

"This company needs a lot of work to be anything other than inadequate for customers and employees."

What do you like about working at MEDSEEK?

"Worked with some great people who are still friends. Good work environment in micro-climates if you earn the respect of others in your area, but largely jaded due to instability in the company. Quite a few people use Medseek as an introduction company to the many very high profile medical companies that are associated with them and build relationships with them and eventually go to work for them."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"They have almost no concept of how to interview employees, might as well treat this as a social event. They have a high turnover rate and a completely unattractive area to work in that's over 30 minutes from any minor city - they will consider you just because you are one of the few that will bother with the hassle. Do not accept their concept of starting pay by any means - they are completely arbitrary and not based on the position or your experience. Tell them what they should be paying you because they will not know or pretend their budget is non-negotiable."

What don't you like about working at MEDSEEK?

"Very poor pay structure and growth opportunities. Poor business practices, inability to understand what makes good employees continue to perform well, poor hiring decisions on a management level and inability to keep good employees who will make a difference due to fear of weak executive management being to blame; 'pass the buck' attitude. Absolutely unconscionable about it's employees and frequently would threaten and give demotions to people who have no choice but to stay due to family, financial and geographical (Solvang is in the middle of no where) obligations in order to keep pay scales low and to fix problems that had little or nothing to do with these employees performances. Huge dissension between Alabama and Solvang offices. Understaffed in almost every department. They do not know how to train their customers let alone their own employees, good luck. Most of the experienced team members in the company who have been there the longest are also the most jaded because they've witnessed the turnover rates and have no desire to train anyone because of it. Nearly everyone will burn out working for this company unless by other circumstances are forced to continue working there in which case they will simply remain miserable. Good luck taking a vacation if you're in any kind of role where you have displayed a lot of ability."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Complete lack of positive, energetic and forward moving management is why this company has never increased it's profits to a reasonable level in years or become anything close to a good place to work. Inability to understand that their business practices are what causes their company to flounder and unable to accept new points of view within the company and using antiquated technology which is riddled with problems, along with better executive management. Unable to understand how to create cross-office relationships and departments. Overworking your best employees because you are unable to do these things is why this company is stagnant and why their turnover rate is the highest I've seen in any company I've worked for which was largely due to the company and not the talent."
