"The students were constantly being rude and disrespectful. Attendance was always flaky on the students part."

"public service is important to me and this job is all about direct involvement with young people's lives. The job can also be a place where there is a great deal of working on your own without direct supervision"

"methodical, rules oriented, and consistent personality types will do better"

"zero work ethic from most kids and poor parental support. many students come to school to play and there is endless disruptions and poor behavior."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"better filtering of students to remove disruptions from classrooms; this will enable teachers to be able to instruct without as many interruptions."

What do you like about working at Cy-Fair High School?
"The faculty and staff are very friendly and care about the students and each other. Cy-Fair High School is one of the top schools in the district and the state."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"The only tip I could give someone applying with Cy-Fair High School is to make sure they have a passion for teaching, first and foremost, and to be really interested in and not just think about having the summer off."
What don't you like about working at Cy-Fair High School?
"I don't like the direction that public education is heading. There is nothing specific about the school that I don't like."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I don't have any suggestions for management. They already encourage the employees to contact state representatives about the issues they are facing, and they try to help out as much as possible with the many tasks teachers are asked to do."
What do you like about working at Collier County Public Schools?
"I like the flexibility that I have being a teacher with the schedule that I have. I would rather a job that I can do year round."

"Be yourself, and make sure that you are always telling the truth."

"I feel that I am not going to be able to move up and I would like to do that within a company"

"People that want to be teachers should be aware of the political nature of the business and the work load that goes along with the low pay."

"Management would do better to hire people who are managers and not old school teachers that have been promoted because of who they are."

"The majority of the staff and management are unwilling to accept the need to change."

"I believe the adminsitration needs to embrace new approaches for teaching at risk students."

"I like the other teachers who I work with every day. I also like the athletic program."

"Become a coach for the extra pay it will also make you indispensable."

"There is no room for change, or any new ideas."

"I would take into account more resources to change the curriculum and not continue to give the students so much leeway."

"My fellow workers are terrific. They have a no-nonsense attitude about education."

"I have no specific advice, other than you will interview well if teaching is in your blood!"
What don't you like about working at Linwood Public Schools?
"Teaching students math when most are not interested and refuse to put forth the required effort is very stressful. This is especially so when standardized tests seem to be used to evaluate the teacher who is putting in 70-80 hours a week versus students who barely spend an hour per week. I am an intuitive, dedicated teacher who has run out of ideas."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I respect the principal at my school. It is a difficult job, and I would not want the position. Therefore, I do my best in my job so he can better concentrate on his."

"I did not like the assignment that I was given."

"My advice for management would be to separate the GED kids from the regular kids altogether."

"Teaching is a very rewarding experience if you apply all that you know in regards to planning and instruction, safety, and orgainizational and problem solving."

"This is currently Not Applicable for me at this time because I enjoyed everything about this school district."

"Provide more opportunities for professional development that are directly related to individual goals as well as organizational goals."

"only if your a lemming and like to follow. If your looking for cutting edge, keep looking"

"I was on an island with no colleagues to share with. The people were a real drag. I like to think education can be fun, engaging and exciting, but they knew I came from the business world so I was an outsider."

"I would integrate more technology into learning! I'd get away from institutional style learning"
