Sales managers sell products, gain new clients and keep old customers happy. Advertising, promotion, customer service and general sales are tasks that a sales manager will complete on a daily basis. Generally speaking, sales managers work at a designated location or in an office. However, job duties may periodically require them to travel or meet clients face-to-face.

Some sales manager positions are obtained through promotion after years of proven company loyalty. However, the highest paying positions will require a college degree.
