Assistant office managers play a support role to office managers in keeping things organized for a business. The assistant office manager might ensure that supplies in the office are fully stocked. They might also oversee the kitchen and other facilities within an office. Their role can be varied depending upon the needs of the office manager.


Skillset: This job is heavy on organization skills. An assistant office manager will have the ability to keep up with many different things at once. Likewise, an assistant office manager must have strong people skills, since a significant part of the job involves managing the people who make up the office.


Education: There is not specific educational path for a person who wants to be an office manager. Good management skills are obviously a must. Those can be gained through a management program at a four year university. Some people will study logistics or human resource management.
